Breast augmentation surgery is currently the most popular surgery in the world, with thousands of women undergoing the procedure each and every year. The technology and the methodology surrounding this procedure has changed greatly in recent years and we currently have the highest quality implants, some of the most able surgeons and it has never been more accessible for ‘average’ people to opt for this kind of surgery.
Two years ago I underwent breast augmentation surgery with great results, and I was fortunate enough to have the great Dr. Esmailian complete my surgery. In the run up to the surgery it is fair to say that I Googled just about everything to do with breast augmentation, and I wanted to put together a quick one-pager for you, if this is something which you are looking into.
What Results To Expect
Breast augmentation is for women who want a larger cup size, ladies who want to add firmness to the breast after weight loss or pregnancy and restore the volume of the breast. Speak with your surgeon about what cup size looks best and what results you are looking for.
Pre-Requisites
The requirements from you in order to undergo this surgery is that you are healthy, and physically fit, that you have fully developed breasts, that you are not breast feeding, and also that you are of sound mind to make this decision.
Safety?
Whilst there are the occasional horror stories, this is an incredibly safe procedure which is carried out day after day, with excellent results. The idea of going under the knife for something cosmetic may appear that it is not entirely safe, but much work has gone into the research and development of this procedure and the techniques required.
How Much Can I Expect To Pay?
As with any cosmetic procedure, costs will vary from surgeon to surgeon and from clinic to clinic. Try not to look at the cost as though it has a correlation to which clinic is best, this is not always the case. Naturally the top surgeons will charge top prices but usually costs come down to geographical location and the method used. The average cost for a breast augmentation procedure is $3,719, an incredibly low cost compared with the eye-watering prices that were charge in the early 2000s.
Operation and Recovery
Incredibly this operation will take no longer than 2 hours, after which you will be discharged, with your breasts wrapped in gauze and and an elastic bandage. Recovery is also pretty fast and as long as you pay attention to what the surgeon has told you, in just a few days you will be back on your feet. Make sure that you were a supportive bra, and that you do all that you can to avoid being over-active and lifting or carrying heavy items. Occasionally you may be prescribed some pain meds, just to help you feel better as your breasts recover, generally however there isn’t too much pain after the procedure.
